Carne Asada with Homemade Chips

In Beef on October 4, 2009 at 10:30 pm

We had our second intramural soccer game tonight and we won and with the taste of victory still on our tongues I made some carne asada.

  • 1 lb top round steak, thin
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 3 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • half an onion, chopped

  • 3 red potatoes
  • garlic salt and cracked pepper

Marinated the steaks in the aforementioned mixture for 3 hours, while we went to play our soccer game.

Sliced the potatoes as thin as I could and put them on a greased baking sheet with tinfoil, sprinkled them with the garlic salt and cracked pepper. Place in the oven on broil at 250 degrees for a 1 hour+ (until they are chips!).

Put the steaks on the grill with aluminum foil over them to speed the cooking time, 325 degrees for 3-4 minutes each side.

Served along side corn.

Average Meal Cost per Person:~$3-4
